↳ Overview
At Banona Studio, we partnered with a product brand to design a 3D-rendered End-Use counter mat — a point-of-sale tool that visually maps each product to its real-world application, so customers can identify the right choice at a glance, without hesitation and without help.
↳ Challenge
At the counter, customers face a wall of products that look nearly identical. Without clear guidance, they second-guess, ask staff, or walk away. For our client, this friction was costing sales — not because the product wasn't right for the customer, but because the customer couldn't tell which product was right for them. The core problem wasn't the product. It was the communication.
↳ Solution
We designed a 3D-rendered counter mat that visualizes each product in its real-world context — showing not what the product is, but where it belongs. Each zone of the mat corresponds to a specific application, turning a complex product range into an at-a-glance decision guide. The result: customers arrive at the counter already oriented. They know what they need. They choose with confidence.
67% of consumers prioritize clear visuals over product descriptions when making a purchase decision. That's not a preference — it's a behavior. It means no amount of well-written copy on a shelf talker or product label will outperform a visual that shows the customer exactly what they need to know. We used that insight to reframe the brief: don't describe the product, show the end use. (Source: MDG Advertising, cited by Neil Patel)
The counter mat gave customers what no label could — instant clarity. By removing the guesswork from the purchase decision, we helped our client create a better in-store experience — one where the product sells itself. At the point of sale, every second of confusion is a missed conversion. How are you helping your customers make confident decisions?
